As part of the 4th Attica Green Expo, a series of important conferences and workshops were once again organized, attended by numerous mayors, elected representatives and senior officials of municipal and regional authorities from all over Greece. At the Main Stage of the central exhibition arena, The National Forum of the ‘KLEISTENIS’ Association of Secretaries of Municipalities and Regions was hosted, attracting once again a significant number of participants.
In dedicated rooms within the exhibition venue, the KLEISTENIS Association, in collaboration with Forum Training & Consulting, organized a range of specialized seminars and workshops for mayors, technocrats, and executives from local government authorities.
The agenda covered a broad spectrum of topics, addressing the evolving needs of modern municipalities as they transition into a new era of digital governance and sustainable development.
Workshop and Conference Topics Included:
- Recent recommendations and findings of the Hellenic Court of Audit regarding direct assignments, project segmentation, procurement, and the execution of public contracts.
- New regulations for municipal councils and the digital management of
collective authorities.
- Amendments to the Public Revenue Collection Code (up to Law 5193/2025) and the implementation of electronic seizure procedures for municipalities (Law 5123/2024). Updates to the framework governing municipal and regional revenues under the forthcoming New Code of Local Government.
- Design and preparation of civil protection exercises at the local level, aimed at enhancing preparedness and effectiveness in cases of natural or human-induced disasters.
- Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity in local authorities and public sector organizations.
- Transition process for the implementation of the General Government Accounting Framework, effective January 1, 2026, for municipalities, regions, and related entities.
